COVID-19 UPDATES & FAQs

With the start of our summer season approaching in two and a half months we are very much looking forward to having each of you stay with us here in Alaska this summer. We hope all of you have remained safe and healthy through this difficult time. Not unexpectedly, many of you have been reaching out with questions and concerns regarding the ongoing crisis that has brought most of the world to a halt. Since the season is still over 2 months away, we are still planning to operate relatively normally and have not made any significant changes at this time but we wanted to reach out to each of you and answer some of your questions and let you know our thoughts regarding the next 6 weeks or so.

Cancellation/Rescheduling Policies
We are a small family owned and operated business with a very short 3 month season so we are trying to be prudent and avoid prematurely altering our season until we get a clearer picture of what will be happening in the next 4-6 weeks. We recognize that all of you have also been adversely affected by this crisis and we will continue to spend many hours working to find solutions for every scenario that could unfold. If conditions do not improve in the next 6 weeks, we are currently discussing the possibility of making alterations to our regular cancellation policies for those who are not covered by their travel insurance policies such as rescheduling, credits, etc. but all of these decisions will depend entirely on many variables that can’t be accurately predicted at this time. Until that time, our regular cancellation policy is in effect for now.

May 1st Final Payments
We have received a few questions regarding the final payments which are coming up on May 1st. If the future is still unclear at that time, we will postpone the due date of those payments. We will not be charging any cards automatically at that time but will be sure to contact you beforehand. We will send another update in late-April with more details regarding those final payments because again, what we do will depend on what happens between now and then.

14-Day Alaska Quarantines/Alaska Air Changes
As some of you may have heard, the State of Alaska has issued an order for a 14-day quarantine for anyone arriving to the state but please be aware that this order is only in effect until April 21st as of now. We will of course be monitoring any changes that could affect your ability to travel or our ability to operate. We are also in close communication with our contacts at Alaska Airlines to stay up to date on any changes in their operations but so far none of their changes affect travel in June-September.

Glacier Bay National Park Schedule Changes 
Some of you may have seen that Glacier Bay National Park will be suspending a few of their non-essential services until July 1. If you’re planning to travel in June, these changes will have a minimal effect (if any) on your trip as it essentially just means that their small one-room Visitor’s Center and Ranger Station will be closed. Very little of our guests’ time in Glacier Bay is spent on land and most of that “land time” is spent on the beautiful walking and hiking trails which will still be open.

We appreciate your patience as we all anxiously wait to see what the next few weeks and months will bring and we hope to see you all this summer in beautiful Alaska. Again, we will update you of any changes as we get closer to the start of the season.
