Glacier Bay is known by name for producing the biggest halibut anywhere! Your best chance in Alaska for hooking fish from 100 to over 300 pounds is right here with us on the calm waters of the inside passage. Even 400+ pound fish that approach the world record have been caught (and kept) in our waters.

GAF Tag Included!

Halibut fishing regulations strictly limit the size of halibut you can keep. Because we lease commercial fishing quota for our guests (known as a Guided Angler Fish or GAF tag), you bypass these rules. Our packages include 1 GAF tag per person, allowing you to keep an extra halibut of ANY SIZE. Catch a 200-pound goliath? With our included tag, it can go in your freezer, not back in the ocean.

Salmon Super-Highway

Alaska’s Gulf Coast, the salmon super-highway, is a scenic hour run from the dock, allowing the option for both Salmon & Halibut fishing on many days. Line your boxes of halibut fillets with King and Silver salmon!

Glacier Bay and Icy Strait possess all the best attributes of saltwater big game fishing. Halibut, King and Coho Salmon, Ling Cod, and Yellow Eye are just a few of the many species that are abundant here in the Inside Passage. Because we primarily fish inside waters, travel time to blue-ribbon fishing grounds takes less than 20 minutes. Because there are no ocean swells where we fish, seasickness is rare.  The waters we fish are also protected from severe storms, which allow fishing when other areas are blown out.
