Glacier Bay and Icy Strait possess all the best attributes of saltwater big game fishing. Halibut, King and Coho Salmon, Ling Cod, and Yellow Eye are just a few of the many species that are abundant here in the Inside Passage. Because we primarily fish inside waters, travel time to blue-ribbon fishing grounds takes less than 20 minutes. Because there are no ocean swells where we fish, seasickness is rare.  The waters we fish are also protected from severe storms, which allow fishing when other areas are blown out.

Year after year, Gustavus leads all other Alaskan communities with the biggest Halibut caught in all of Alaska. Just a few years ago, what would have been a world record halibut, had it been brought in properly, was caught just minutes from the Gustavus dock. A 95 inch monster halibut weighing in at 482 lbs!
